Science Extra Curricular
Skills in STEM (Science, technology, engineering and maths) are being seen as increasingly important whatever you want to when you leave school. Our science clubs will help to build on the skills that you develop in class and give you the chance to explore and investigate a range of topics in more detail.
Key Stage 3 Science Club - Tuesday lunchtime S1
This club is open to any students from years 7 and 8. It will explore Biology, Chemistry and Physics in a fun and exciting way. To give you the change to try out new experiments and build up your confidence with practical work the club will be limited to 20 students each week so you will need to sign up to it.
Homework club – Wednesday lunchtime S5
Come into science to find a quiet place to sit and do your homework. Stay as long as you need to, the room will be open for the whole of lunch with science teachers on hand to help. This club is open to all year groups and you can work on homework for any subject, not just science.
Youth STEMM Award – Years 9, 10 and 12
The aim of this award is to engage and inspire a new generation of scientists and engineers. You will take part in a range of activities to qualify for each component of the award, including helping out with the KS3 science club and open evening. We will meet once or twice a term and you will then work independently on your own projects. There will be the opportunity to share your enthusiasm with others as well as develop your own skills and knowledge.
